Broadening the Binary: Critiquing and Extending Jeremy M. Weinstein’s Theory on Rebel Behavior

In this assignment for a government seminar, students were asked to meaningfully engage with prior class readings on theories of rebellion, insurgency, and civilian behavior through any means of personal interest — from highlighting weaknesses to designing new methods of programming and showcasing the theory transferability. My paper critiques a traditional theory on rebel behavior while also leveraging additional theory to propose a substitute model.
